Celebrating the life of
Teresa M. Lancon
August 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025
Teresa Joan McGuire Lancon
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Joan McGuire Lancon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Teresa was born in Savannah, Georgia, and spent quite a bit of her youth on the beautiful shores of Tybee Island, a place that shaped her joyful and loving spirit. Teresa was born August 18, 1950 and passed away on January 18, 2025.
Teresa shared her life with her devoted husband, Bobbie G. Lancon. Together, they built a family full of love and cherished memories. She was the proud and loving mother of Kimberly A. Best (husband Kevin), Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Rogers, and Bobbie J. Lancon. Her grandchildren, Kenneth J. Best and Chelsea Johnson, brought her immense joy and pride. Teresa also had a special bond with her "granddogs," Copper and Savannah, who were precious companions in her life.
Teresa is also survived by her four siblings: Linda Fonferek (husband Bill), Trisha Schulze (husband Richard, deceased), Cheryl Bennett (husband John), and Richard J. McGuire (wife Elisabeth).
She was predeceased by her father, Richard Joseph McGuire, and her mother, Kathleen Marian McGuire Colson, who she held close in her heart.
Teresa dedicated over 20 years of her professional life to Gulfstream and spent an additional five years working with Wells Fargo. Her strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to her colleagues left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside her.
A lifelong Catholic, Teresa was deeply proud of her faith and her unwavering support of the Catholic Church. Her dedication to her religion and community was evident in her actions and her kindness toward others.
A memorial service to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, located at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, January 25th. Visitation with the family will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 10:30 a.m.
To honor Teresa's memory and her love for the color red, the family welcomes attendees to wear red to the service as a tribute to her vibrant spirit. Teresa’s warmth, love, and faith-filled spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Catholic Diocese of Savannah in Teresa’s memory, honoring her steadfast devotion to her faith and community.
